Summary of Responsibility:
Responsible for engineering for all surface oil and gas facilities
Company resource and representative on engineering matters
Advises the Company on engineering matters and develops policies and programs to ensure that the Company’s engineering activities represent sound, modern, safe and economic practices.
Provides the Company, and on occasions the Saudi government, local industry and international organizations, with guidance and direction on projects, operations and strategic planning as they relate to engineering.
Leading over 1,000 engineers with key corporate functions: engineering standards, technical support for operating facilities and projects, technology development and deployment, quality management, vendor evaluation and selection, engineering professional development, corporate innovation, knowledge management as well as technology evaluation and selection.

Saudi Aramco’s technical standards improvement efforts, coupled with the introduction of key technologies such as non-metallic materials, will together enable the company to achieve approximately $2.6 billion in cost avoidance.

Lead and represent Saudi Aramco at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Project Complexity Workstream with major oil and gas companies to achieve the Standards Improvement and Globalization Initiative. This initiative was launched to address the root cause of the continuing increase in oil and gas project costs.

General Manager, Northern Region Project Management
Summary of Responsibility:
Responsible for the execution of a $41 billion capital program to develop mega oil and gas projects such as Manifa, Karan, Shaybah, Wasit, Hasbah, Arabiyah, RT Clean Fuels and all other onshore and offshore facilities in the Northern Region.
Project management responsibilities include the various phases of project execution including planning, budgeting, engineering, procurement, project controls, construction, and safety, health and environment.

Completion of several of these mega projects including the $17 billion Manifa oil field, a cluster of 27 artificial islands in the shallow northeastern waters of the Arabian Gulf.
It is the fifth largest offshore oil field in the world. I collaborated with other engineers to design the 41-kilometer causeway that connects the islands, to minimize disruption to marine life in an area where fishing and shrimping were major industries.
Manifa has the capacity to supply three refineries and two petrochemical plants with a capacity of up to 900,000 barrels of heavy crude per day.

Sadara is a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and The Dow Chemical Company to build the world’s largest integrated hydrocarbon and petrochemical facility in a single phase, comprising 26 plants at a cost of over $20 billion.
I was profiled in Forbes during this time due to the uniqueness of my position as an engineering leader and the sheer scale and scope of engineering a large petrochemical complex. I am extremely proud to have witnessed the successful completion and commissioning of the Sadara project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
